HIS 7870 IceQ 2 GB(256bit) GDDR5 2x Mini-DiplayPort HDMI DL DVI-I (HDCP) PCI Express X 16 3.0 Graphics Card H787Q2G2M - Review

Oh Yeah
Pros:
I was impressed with the box but nothing surpasses when I took out this Card. It literaly is awesome. It is very sleek with the black
and the blue fan. I knew this card was big but wow, it is a monster. I thought the install was very easy and afterwards went and got
the AMD Catalyst Drivers and installed the HIS Software as well. I updated my Windows Experience Index and I am at 7.9 for Graphics and
Gaming Graphics, which is the highest Windows 7 allows. This Card seems to be running very quite at the moment and right now is at 76F
Idle and 90F during gaming. This card is nice because it pushes air out from the front grill improving overall cooling of the whole case
This Card is also very Overclocker friendly and yet plays games so well I do not think I ever will use it.
I also have installed several games like Stalker,Crysis 2,Battlefield 3 and set
it to 1920 by 1080 using a HDMI cable to my Monitor with all games set to Extreme and I...

Customer review : Just a decent card
I got this card for $299 during an HIS promotion period. Just three weeks later AMD announces price cut for HD7K cards. Still I don't feel bad since the price after the cut is also $299.

The card performs well in games. After five years I finally maxed out in Crysis. However it fails to maintain 50+ framerate in BF3 with Ultra presets. In Close Quarters maps framerate easily drop to sub-40 range which results in perceivable lag. This is quite disappointing since an old Fermi GTX570 does better job.

What it can offer while an older card definitely cannot is ultra low power consumption. While official rated TDP is 190W, you will probably never see this card eating that much. I'm not an overclocking guy but I go for the opposite: undervolting. Stock voltage is 1216mV and the lowest possible load voltage is 1156mV so there is a 60mV room for undervolting. That doesn't sound much but it actually saves 30W! Overall system power draw in Furmark is 200W with a 3.6GHz...
