Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 Quiet CPU Cooler for Intel LGA 2011 Socket with 6 Heatpipes, 140/120mm SSO Bearing PWM Fans NH-D14 SE2011

Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 Quiet CPU Cooler for Intel LGA 2011 Socket with 6 Heatpipes, 140/120mm SSO Bearing PWM Fans NH-D14 SE2011 - Review

CPU SUPERcooler
This CPU Cooler is awesome! But it is very big. I have a ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and this thing barely fits between the memory. In fact one of the dimms is being pushed over slightly. I cannot hear this thing running at all and is SUPERCOOLING my system. I7 3930 at 4.00 GHz and 130.0 watts TDP my system is running below 40 degrees Celcius. Prime95 at 100% load pushes it to just above 60. I just wish Noctua would have cut off 1/8" off the bottom of the fins or made it 1/16" narrower. With all of this said ... I could have solved the issue by using memory with shorter heat spreaders. THIS COOLER IS A WINNER!

Customer review : Super Cooler
It can never be said this cooler will not handle the task of keeping a overclocked i7 3930k , cool.
Even running at over 4GHz, the temp never got above 45 degrees C.
Now the space this cooler takes up is large so you better have a large case. I had to remove the lower fan , to make room for the EVGA 570 HD graphic card. Now you do have to be careful in picking your memory chips, the cooler extends out over the memory area so memory taller than bout 1.6" will be a problem. But don't fear Gskill makes memory that fits and the Noctua web site gives you plenty of help in this area of memory.
For the price and peace of mind, I would recommend this cooler.
